American Tobacco Company was founded in 1890 as a merger between several tobacco companies. It was first out of twelve member of Dow Jones Industrial Average (known also as Dow Jones).Throughout the history the brand has been changing owners and eventually in late 1980's they left Durham NC.
The leftover space was redesign and in 2004 opened to the public as a complex with offices, restaurants and shops.
The American Tobacco Campus is also part of Durham Art Walk- seasonal art event filled with fun, great music, local art and crafts and best food!
